With its early roots providing tea demonstrations at SeaWorld San Diego, The Urasenke San Diego Tankokai was founded in 1979 by Soshin Saito and her husband Milton Saito.  It is an accredited 501c3 non-profit organization, made up of volunteers, teachers and students who enjoy tea and the embodiment of several core facets of Japanese culture -the Japanese tea ceremony.
Thanks to the continued support of our community, the Urasenke San Diego Tankokai continues to produce teachers and events that highlight the aspects of Japanese arts and culture which inspire moments of peace, friendship and joyful learning.
